Cascade Natural Gas Corporation is in the process of replacing and updating service lines within our service territory. This is an ongoing program to ensure our customers safe and efficient natural gas service now and well into the future.
As a result of this construction, you may see some disruption of your normal traffic routes during the day. This construction activity will be kept as minimal as possible and will be cleaned up daily. Customers within the area of the replacement will be contacted regarding updating their lines and meters as the construction crew draws near. Crews have installed the 2-inch main on SE 2nd Street, from SE Taft Avenue north to SE Wilson Avenue.
On Friday, August 29, crews will begin installing the 2-inch main on SE Wilson (Note: the work on SE Wilson from SE 2nd Street to Dutch Bros. Coffee house is in row behind the side walk).
Once crews have installed the main on SE Wilson, they will use a pneumatic boring machine to install the line crossing SE Wilson; just east of SE 2nd. As soon as this line is installed the crew will test it and begin tying services over to the new main.
Another crew is currently working to tie-in service to the new main in the alley between N.W. Broadway and N.W. Congress.
Update: August 26, 2014
As of August 21, 2014, crews have completed all gas main and service-line work on S.E. 2nd Street from SE Scott Street south to S.E. Yew Lane. Additionally, paver crews are performing restoration work on S.E. 2nd Street and are just south of S.E. Yew Lane.
On Friday, August 22, the paving crew should have completed their work on S.E. 2nd Street.
Beginning Friday, August 22, pipe crews will have moved to the intersection of SE Taft Avenue and SE 2nd Street to begin installing a 2-inch gas main. The crews will be moving north towards SE Wilson Avenue and should reach the intersection with S.E. Wilson Avenue on Tuesday, August 26.
A crew is scheduled to install a 2-inch main starting at the Dutch Bros. Coffee shop on S.E. Wilson Avenue and work west towards S.E. 2nd Street. Another crew will move to N.W. Kansas Avenue to test a 2-inch main installed in the alley between N.W. Broadway and N.W. Congress. The testing will allow crews to start connecting services.
