Cascade Natural Gas Corporation is in the process of replacing and updating service lines within our service territory. This is an ongoing program to ensure our customers safe and efficient natural gas service now and well into the future.
As a result of this construction, you may see some disruption of your normal traffic routes during the day. This construction activity will be kept as minimal as possible and will be cleaned up daily. Customers within the area of the replacement will be contacted regarding updating their lines and meters as the construction crew draws near. See below for more details about construction in your area.
Cascade Natural Gas Corporation Phase 3 pipe replacement:
Latest Update: October 17, 2014
Work continues as crews are installing a two-inch line on NW 5th Street, starting at NW Portland Boulevard and moving toward NW Saginaw Avenue.
A crew has also begun to bore a line at NW Galveston Avenue and is now boring under the Deschutes River. Once that is complete there will be some traffic diversion at NW Tumalo Avenue and NW Riverside Boulevard. A further update on the impact to traffic in that area will be provided when the boring across the river has been completed.
Update: October 10, 2014
The boring has been completed across SE Wilson Avenue and the line on SE 2nd Street, extending from SE Wilson Avenue to SE Taft Avenue, has been tested and purged. Crews will begin to tie-in service lines on SE Wilson Avenue throughout the next week. Traffic in this area should not be affected.
Once the work on SE Wilson is completed, crews will be preparing for installation of the line on NW 5th Street and NW Portland Avenue — working northward. Flaggers will be in place on NW 5th Street to help control traffic through the construction zone.
Updates will be posted here and on Cascade's Facebook page.
